In the case of discomfort or pain in the chest area as well as irregular heartbeat, an electrocardiogram (ECG) is often useful. Here we gain a range of information immediately in the practice, which – sometimes supplemented by laboratory tests – can quickly provide clarity.

An exercise ECG, also known as ergometry, is necessary in certain situations to gain additional diagnostic certainty in the case of heart complaints. If desired, this examination can also be performed as a performance diagnostic (not covered by health insurance).
