Check up

During a Check Up, you will be examined as a precaution without having to suffer from any illness or symptoms. In this way, health problems can be detected before they cause symptoms. Since the legislator has also recognized that preventive care makes sense, you will not incur any additional costs for the Check Up 35 (once between the ages of 18 and 35, then every 3 years) and the consultation for colorectal cancer screening (from the age of 50) if you have statutory health insurance – private health insurance companies also generally cover the Check Up services.

What does Check Up 35 include?

1. anamnesis: you discuss with us your previous illnesses and existing complaints, if any. We can also advise you individually regarding illnesses within your family and the resulting possible risks, your profession or other life circumstances/habits.
2. an individual physical examination including blood pressure measurement
3. during blood sampling, the following values are examined: blood lipids, fasting blood glucose and, if possible, a one-time blood screening for hepatitis-B and hepatitis-C virus infections.
4. urinalysis makes an important contribution to the (early) detection of kidney disease and possible other health problems.
5. we check your vaccination status together – please bring your vaccination card with you.

Further examinations such as extended laboratory tests, ultrasound, ECG, lung function, stress ECG can be booked on request as self-pay services.

What does the colorectal cancer screening consultation include?

Colorectal cancer screening is recommended from the age of 50, as precancerous colorectal lesions can be detected comparatively early and removed gently. For women, a preventive colonoscopy is covered as a health insurance benefit from the age of 55, for men from the age of 50 (every 10 years) – we recommend this examination. We will be happy to advise you and refer you to the appropriate specialist (gastroenterologist) if necessary. If a colonoscopy is not an option for you, you can have a stool test performed by us every year from the age of 50 to 55, and every 2 years from the age of 55. The test kit will be given to you at home and you will bring it back after the test.
